A Conversation with Author Elizabeth Kolbert

Administration Building (ADMIN) | Room 120The Creative Writing Forum and Community Book Connection of CCBC are excited to present a conversation with Elizabeth Kolbert, the author of this year’s CBC book, Under a White Sky: The Nature of the Future. Kolbert will discuss topics from the book and host a question-and-answer session with attendees. She will sign books for in person attendees after the presentation.
Elizabeth Kolbert traveled from Alaska to Greenland, visiting top scientists to get to the heart of the debate over global warming. Her book, “The Sixth Extinction: An Unnatural History,” a book about mass extinctions that weaves intellectual and natural history with reporting in the field, won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize. She has been a staff writer for The New Yorker since 1999, and her stories have also appeared in The New York Times Magazine, Vogue, and Mother Jones, and have been anthologized in “The Best American Science and Nature Writing” and “The Best American Political Writing.”
The Community Book Connection (CBC) is a college-wide, interdisciplinary reading initiative dedicated to promoting a culture of dialogue, discussion, and debate at CCBC.
