An evening conversation about “The Keepers”
Dashiell Hammett Crime and Genre Fiction Society in collaboration with the CCBC Creative Writing Forum presents and evening of conversation about “The Keepers,” the groundbreaking, Emmy-nominated Netflix docuseries examining the murder of Sister Cathy Cesnik and the efforts of a group of dedicated women to uncover the truth about her death. This compelling conversation takes place 7 p.m., Monday, October 15 at CCBC Catonsville in the Barn.
In 1969, Sister Cathy was a teacher at a Baltimore all-girls Catholic high school when she was murdered. Although her murder has never been solved, speculation continues regarding a connection between her death and allegations of abuse by a priest at the school.
Joining in on the conversation will be investigator Gemma Hoskins, cinematographer John Benam and Jean Hargadon-Wehner, one of the courageous women whose bravery launched an international conversation about abuses within the Catholic Church.
This event is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception. For information about this event contact Anjili Babbar at firstname.lastname@example.org.
